Income of state museum complexes in Italy 1999-2022
The income of state museum complexes in Italy bounced back in 2022, following a sharp decline with the onset of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. After declining to 10.4 million euros in the first year of the health crisis, these institutions' income reached nearly 72 million euros in 2022 but remained below pre-pandemic levels. While the income of state monuments and archaeological areas also did not catch up yet with pre-pandemic figures, the income of state museums in Italy recovered from the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, exceeding 90 million euros.
